September 18, 2024 [New Albany, IN]– Samtec, Inc., the service leader in the connector industry, will be demonstrating next-generation, high-performance optical and copper interconnect solutions at the upcoming ECOC exhibition, the largest optical communications exhibition in Europe.

Held in Frankfurt, Germany (23-25 September 2024), the ECOC exhibition will also host an OIF Interoperability Demo of products and technologies that are pivotal for shaping the next decade of industry standards. Samtec is one of 34 member-company participants in the OIF demo, which will spotlight advancements in performance, efficiency, and capacity in response to the needs of future-oriented data centers, AI/ML technologies, and disaggregated systems. The OIF demo companies will showcase innovations in 800ZR, 400ZR and multi-span optics, energy-efficient interfaces (EEI) & co-packaging, 224G and 112G common electrical I/O (CEI), and Common Management Interface Specification (CMIS).

Samtec Networking Solutions in Stand #D2
Samtec high-speed interconnects are well suited for use in high-performance designs such as AI/high-performance computing, medical, test & measurement, and FPGA applications. This year at ECOC, Samtec will showcase demonstrations in stand #D2 that incorporate NovaRay® I/O panel mount cable system, Eye Speed® Air hyper-low-skew AWG twinax cable, and the new HaloTM next-gen optical system for optical or copper interconnects.

OIF Interoperability Demo
OIF will host an interoperability demonstration addressing the demand for next-generation data center networking, AI/ML, and disaggregation applications in its stand #B83 at ECOC 2024.
Samtec’s products will be included in the CEI interoperability demonstrations, specifically the 224G long-range demo, 224G very-short-range demo, and 112G linear demo.

When combined with Samtec’s Bulls Eye High-Performance Test Systems, the combined solution offers an easy-to-use test platform for evaluating and demonstrating 224 Gbps PAM4 signal performance.
• Samtec’s Bulls Eye High-Performance Test System features a high-density space saving design that enables smaller evaluation boards and shorter trace lengths in test and measurement applications. The Bulls Eye block compression mounts adjacent to the SerDes being characterized. End 2 of the cable assembly connects to instrumentation using any of the following connector options: 1.00 mm, 1.35 mm, 1.85 mm, 2.40 mm or 2.92 mm.
