Virgo, an SFP+ optical modules product family, combines a 10GE to OTU2/2e transponder with an optical transceiver.
By transporting the 10GE signal over OTU2/2e bearers, Virgo provides Forward Error Correction with powerful coding gain, enhancing optical performance and extending the operational range of the optical links. 2 types of FEC can be ordered: GFEC and UFEC I.7.
Virgo, that fits into SFP+ sockets, is a Plug and Play module, and does not require changes to the host system.
The optical transceiver of Virgo SFP+ may be ordered with Gray, DWDM, or CWDM wavelengths, and an optical reach of 10/40/80/100Km.
