Photonic Integrate Circuits Design for any Application Environment
Stand at Virtual Catch Up
12th October 2022
Photonic integrated circuits combine multiple optical components. Fabricating an optical waveguide prototype and then analyzing it costs time and resources. An alternate approach is to use numerical tools such as COMSOL Multiphysics. This allows you to quickly setup models and investigate your device before finalizing the prototype for fabrication. For today’s telecom optical chips, a profound understanding of many physical phenomena, including electrical switching, MEMS, heating, and nonlinear optics is required. Thanks to the extensive physics coupling opportunities offered by the COMSOL Multiphysics simulation software, even further applications, such as sensing or lab-on-a-chip, are possible.
