Simulation pioneers Photon Design release Quantum Dot Gain simulations to their established suite of laser simulations. The upgraded 8 band k.p model and 3D stress-strain calculations will produce absorption and gain spectra for lens and pyramid shaped dots, integrated seamlessly to trusted software Harold. Results from the model have matched experimental data performed by the skilled team at Cardiff University on UCL’s dots.

3D time evolving laser simulations are just around the corner as development continues linking the thorough gain simulations to market leading PIC simulator PICWave (due November).
