Optiwave Announces Successful Completion of the FreeSpace Project
Stand 1458
8th July 2026
Optiwave Systems Inc has added recently Satellite channel modelling to the free space optical (FSO) communication portfolio. The Satellite FSO Channel component can be used to model optical signal propagation for ground-to-satellite, satellite-to-ground, and satellite-to-satellite links, covering communication with satellites in low-earth orbit, medium-earth orbit, or geostationary-earth orbit as well as between satellites in the same or different orbits. All weather and turbulence conditions are considered in the atmosphere allowing wavefront distortion monitoring. Users may load measured spatial phase masks to simulate practical test cases or use built-in algorithms. In addition, doppler shift, blockage and line-of-sight visibility conditions are supported.
