Warning to ECOC Exhibitors
Scam Warning – ‘Attendee Lists’ & Approved Contractors
Please be aware that there are ‘hoax’ companies, targeting exhibitors to sign up with them to receive ‘attendee’ lists of ECOC 2026
PLEASE DO NOT respond to any such emails. We do NOT rent out our attendee lists.
You may also be approached by stand builders, hotel booking agents etc who may claim to be working on behalf of ECOC 2026 but are not.
ECOC 2026 approved contractors are listed in the on-line manual contractors for services section.
We only work with our approved contractors and will never forward your details to third parties.
INTERNATIONAL DIRECTORY SCAM
If your company exhibits in the UK or overseas, you may be contacted by organisations such as International Fairs Directory (IFD), Inter-Fairs, Expo-Guide, Fairguide, or Construct Data.
This scam has been running for over 25 years and still catches businesses out.
You may receive an official-looking form (by email or post), sometimes after a phone call “checking your details.” It will reference a trade show you’re attending and appear linked to the event organisers. It’s often marked urgent and presented as a free listing.
Do not complete or return these forms.
These companies often reappear under new names despite legal action worldwide.
