Since 1987, The Light Brigade has trained more than 35,000 people in basic fiber optic network design, maintenance, testing, and advanced topics such as FTTx, DWDM, and PMD/CD. We produce professional-quality educational DVDs, CDs, and self-study programmes. All of our training materials are technology based and demonstrate theory and techniques applicable to any manufacturer's product. For this year’s Conference, we will host ECOC’s first Video Theater, which will be available, free of charge, to conference attendees. Three of our Staff Development DVDs, “Fundamentals of Fiber Optics,” “Fiber Optic Active Devices,” and “Fiber Optic Passive Devices,” will be featured daily. We also are proud to serve as coordinator for the FTTx Resource Centre at ECOC for the forth consecutive year.

 

The 2009 FTTx Resource Centre will feature a working FTTx/PON system, courtesy of Cable Telecommunications Training Services, Ltd. (CTTS), as well as live demonstrations scheduled hourly throughout the length of the conference. The Centre will serve as a common meeting place for discussion and evaluation of the components, systems, test equipment, and products that support the Fibre to the "x" installations. Meet with industry experts and developers, review relevant literature, and pick up a map of the exhibition hall that highlights the locations of FTTx organizations and vendors. This year’s Centre is coordinated by The Light Brigade and co-sponsored by NEXUS Media Events Ltd.
